Nolan Gagnon

Started driving in 2021 during my Mech Eng sophomore year and applied my schooling to go from being completely new to consistently being on the podium at UMCKC in shifter. I've learned how to drive, wrench, and read data in a short amount of time to compete with racers that have far more experience. Efficiency and hard work are the two most important pieces that need to come together to progress to catch the field. Proud owner of a ROK and two KZs. The strategies and tips you will learn will get you up to speed at the local level and get you prepared for Regional Racing. Learn to shift with your boy!

Utah
Pat has been in and around karting since 2005. He started in Utah at the now-defunct Black Rock Raceway in 80cc shifter, and quickly advanced to 125cc shifter, going from local to regional and national competition across the west coast. He was the first shifter driver to be ranked 1st overall across the country in ekartingnews.com driver rankings, has competed in the internationally contested SKUSA Supernationals 5 times, with a best finish of 8th on 2 occasions. He finished second in the inaugural Streets of Lancaster GP, holding a loose gas tank with his legs and competing with a cracked chassis. He was also selected as 1 of 12 karters to participate in the inaugural Jim Russell Scholarship program. For a short time, he also held the lap record at Sonoma Raceway Karting Center. He has driven in NKC road racing events, street courses, parking lot tracks, and multiple karting circuits across the west coast. He has lived at Willow Springs Raceway, working at a kart shop and doing driver instruction routinely.
After a leave of absence from karting, he returned as a mechanic with Englehart Racing in 2023, working with Lia, Mika and Kira Block. With multiple wins and podiums in various degrees of competition, he understands the attention to detail required for race winning performance. He is a student of motorsports and loves to introduce new people to it, and enjoys searching for new ways to understand the science of karting and racing, from preparation and engineering of the kart, to the psychology and emotional regulation of the driver. When he is not at the track, he enjoys watching any form of motorsports, however obscure, doing some indoor karting when able, wrenching on and driving his 1984 VW GTI, and hanging out with his 3 pitbulls.
In 2026, he will be working under the Msquared camp for UMC races, but will be available during the week and on non-race weekends for kart setup and driver coaching. If you are interested in utilizing his experience, book him for your next day at the track!
